NEW YORK – Sept. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/ Today, the Israel Ministry of Tourism revealed record-breaking numbers of visitors from the United States who visited Israel in the months of July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a four% rise over 2019, and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This is an increase of 13% over 2019.

“It is so exciting to witness a new increase in tourist numbers to Israel from the United States, already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking numbers for the year 2019,” said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. “The United States has been our most important market for Israel’s tourism inbound. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, we had record number of Israeli tourism entries each month.

Not far behind in the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing its tourist arrivals in Israel by 7,200 tourists in July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) declared that “it is exciting to watch how Canada’s tourist to Israel is rebounding.” “We aren’t too far from our record 2019 numbers and we anticipate that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians remain at ease traveling abroad.”

Israel received more than 4.6 million international tourists in the year 2019 and this included 969.600 being from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all travelers, regardless if they are immunized. Israel has already hosted over 600,000.
